Learn About Solar

A PV solar installation includes key components that work together to generate and manage electricity. Solar panels convert sunlight into direct current (DC) electricity, which can be used immediately or stored in batteries for later use. Since most household appliances and the power grid operate on alternating current (AC), an inverter is used to convert the DC into usable AC power. Any excess energy not used can be sent back to the grid, often earning the system owner credits or compensation.

Cheaper Home Battery Program

As of July 1st 2025, the Cheaper Home Battery Program will offer a rebate of around 30% on the upfront cost of installing eligible small-scale battery systems in Australia.

This rebate, aimed at households and small businesses, will be delivered through the existing Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme (SRES). It can be combines with state or territory rebates, potentially offering significant savings.
